The PEVC has provided great services since 1975! There are a number of veterinarians, certified veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants that are trained in emergency medicine, which helps to provide you with the best possible emergency care.

This new addition was added onto the Peninsula Emergency Veterinary Clinic in 2004. The facility houses a number of veterinary specialist including Dermatology, Neurology, Soft tissue/Orthopedic surgery, Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology. Below are the specialists that are presently at the PVSF.

Animal Allergy & Dermatology is made up of board certified veterinary dermatologists who are trained to recognize and treat skin diseases and allergies that can be chronic and very frustrating. As specialists, they strive to stay current on newly recognized disease and therapies.
2. ANIMAL EYE CARE (OPHTHALMOLOGY )

Animal Eye Care is a veterinary ophthalmology practice offering advanced medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases in animals. Your pet will be evaluated by a Board Certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist using specialized diagnostic equipment. They work with your family veterinarian to improve the quality of your pet’s vision.
3. BAY AREA VETERINARY SURGERY P.C. (BAVS)

BAVS can provide specialized surgical services in a wide range of soft tissue, neurologic and orthopedic cases.
4. VETERINARY NEUROLOGY, NEUROSURGERY & INTERNAL MEDICINE (VNNIM)

VNNIM provides comprehensive, diagnostic and therapeutic referral services in neurology and neurosurgery for veterinary patients with diseases affecting the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves and muscles. During your visit to VNNIM, their goal is to help alleviate your pet’s symptoms while making a diagnosis and prescribing treatment.
TIDEWATER VETERINARY INTERNAL MEDICINE (TVIM)

TVIM is a referral only practice providing specialized medical care for dogs and cats. Their mission is to provide the best medical care possible to pets in Hampton Roads area, balanced with a commitment to compassion and empathy for both the pet and its owner.
NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY- COLLEGE OF VETERINARY MEDICINE
The NC State-CVM hospital is divided into individual referral services, including: Cardiology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Oncology, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurology, and Avian & Reptile Medicine.
Their mission is to provide excellent medical care, delivered in a caring and compassionate manner. Dr. Nicole McKelvin is a graduate of NCSU-CVM.

MERRIMAC DOG TRAINING CLUB, INC.
Merrimac Dog Training Club is an AKC licensed club, founded in 1947. Merrimac offers formal classes (obedience, agility, and breed handling) for the public throughout the year in an air conditioned/heated building.

Appointments are preferred to decrease your waiting time. Walk-ins are accepted but may experience a wait because previously scheduled appointments are priority. Emergencies are always FIRST priority
